It : It is certainly understandable to concerned. This time, early in pregnancy, with your history, can really be nerve racking. The good news is that, with a level of 400, it is not really expected to see the pregnancy. If you ovulated and conceived in the cycle that started 2 months ago, then a level of 400 would be much less than expected and the pregnancy is probably abnormal where ever it is. The critical question is when did you actually ovulate? If you don't know, but your cycles have been a little off, it is possible that you missed a cycle and ovulated late and it is just too early to see anything. The thing to do now is follow the HCG levels to see if they are rising normally. They should increase by at least 50% in 48 hours. Once the level gets to 1, 500 or 2, 000, you must see a pregnancy in the uterus and if you do not, then you must assume that you have an ectopic pregnancy. At this point, it is just too early to clearly know what is going on unless you did an ovulation predictor kit and know exactly when you ovulated.
