My daughter is in hospital, today is her fourth day. yesterday at around 12:30 her one eye was diluted. dr stopped the nebulizing meds and changed it this morning saying it was the nebz? she is 3years old.

That said, the drugs nebulized for asthma (such as albuterol and ipratropium) can temporarily dilate one or both pupils, especially if the vapor blows into the eye.

Mask fit: Using a mask that fits snuggly around the nose and mouth may help. Rinsing eyes after use of the nebulizer is suggested. If she has an infection and there is pupil dilation on one side, please have a neurologist evaluate and meningitis may be considered.
