Lymph : Lymph nodes drain sites of infections - so they can get enlarged. Have you ever had streph throat & a series of swollen and tender lymph nodes? If the lymph nodes do not resolve it would be good to get them checked, to ensure the reason they are swollen is benign.

If : If you are thin, it is very easy to palpate lymph nodes. There are hundreds of them in the head and neck. I describe them as the "garbage collector" of the neck, as anything abnormal like an infection, inflammation, or neoplasm will result in their enlargement. It usually resolves within 4 weeks, and if it persists, please have it evaluated by a physician.
