Has : Has your doctor examined the mole to determine that it is actually a mole and to see if it has a benign appearance or it the lesion is concerning? What the lesion is can help to determine the best course of action, if any. I suggest you talk to your pediatrician. Your pediatrician may have the answer or might refer you to a dermatologist.

Whether : Whether or not to remove a mole depends on it's appearance and whether or not it is symptomatic. You should see a plasstic surgeon or a dermatologist. The concern is that the mole could degenerate into a melanoma which can be fatal so by all means it should be examined.
