Folliculitis?: Superficial skin infections usually are due to common skin bacteria, sometimes staph or strep. Surgical wounds can increase skin bacterial growth which might persist after healing, so conceivably related to the mole removal. But this is a common condition regardless of past surgery and that makes no difference now in prevention or treatment. Try antibacterial soap, see a doctor if nothing changes.
