The : The bump on the gum is called an epulis and is a sign of a tooth abscess. Antibiotics will help a little, but unfortunately will not cure your problem. You will need to see a dentist and may need a root canal procedure performed..

If : If you have an absess on your gum, Flagyl is not a good choice. Flagyl is a good anti-parasitic and has limited efficacy against the bacteria. For an absess, you may need an incision and drainage in addition to stronger antibiotic. You should see your dentist.
