Your : Your reaction is less likely due to the fact that the medication was expired than to an underlying allergy the medication or to something else you were exposed to. Have you taken Amoxicillin in the past without problems? Have you taken any other medications in the past 24 hours? Any new shampoos or soaps (including laundry soap)? Benadryl is a pretty good medication for controlling allergy symptoms. The fact that the symptoms returned later suggests that you may have been exposed again.

Well : Well first don't ' take any more penicillin type drugs and be sure your doctor knows you have a likely drug allergy. If you aren't having any wheezing or lung symptoms and you are feeling ok except for a little itching , then Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25 mg every 6 hours will make you comfortable and by tomorrow you should be fine. If you have swelling of the throat, wheezing, worsening rash or chest pain etc you should see a doctor asap. Most severe penicillin allergies happen very quickly after you take them though so i bet you'll be fine. Good plan with old unused drugs is toss them away when you haven't used them up. Mix them in cat litter or coffee grounds and toss in the garbage rather than flush them down the toilet.
