If : If the cardiologist was planning a catheter ablation procedure, he must have identified a cardiac arrhythmia of some type. Whether or not that's the cause of your pain i can't say, but it's not something he would do just to scare you, so he probably thought that whatever he had found was significant. It sounds to me like you were on the right track but working with the wrong doctor. You should probably try again with someone else. The subspecialty of cardiology that works with heart rhythm is called electrophysiology: try contacting your local hospital's web page and search for that speciatly.
