Acne scaring are there any options to get rid of acne scaring? i had cysmatic (not sure how to spell it) acne my whole life and still currently have it. just not as bad. my entire face is pitted. i talked to a specialist at one point who was very mean

I : I agree that it is important to treat the cystic acne first. Accutane is a good treatment for this purpose. Please read more about Accutane on the link below. After you complete Accutane treatment, you must wait at least six months before treating any scarring that is left over from the acne. At that point, laser resurfacing combined with selective removal of pitted acne scars can help improve acne scarring. I hope that helps!

I'm : I'm sorry you have so much scarring from your acne. Acne scars can't really be addressed until your cystic acne is under control, because many of the methods used to treat scars could aggravate existing acne and actually increase scarring in the long run. Talk to your dermatologist about dealing with your cystic acne. An intensive regimen of topical and oral antibiotics, phototherapy, or possibly even Accutane might be necessary so you can proceed with treating your scars. Hang in there, and good luck!
