Depends on age: It is my understanding that ENT surgeons are willing to do nasal reconstruction in cases of deviated septum and injury. Most like proceed after a childs facial bones have reached their adult size and structure. Check with your local source about their procedures.

Have her evaluated: A discussion with your local ent/facial plastic surgeon can help sort out the problem. Certainly rhinoplasty may be an option, but there are may problems that could contributing including allergies, sinus infections, etc. Exact recommendations depend on the nature of the problem, the severity of the problem and the child's age. A consultation should bring you answers specific to your loved one.

Not always: It is difficult to determine without a full examination. Rhinoplasty for cosmesis is best performed when the child reaches maturity and full growth. This can be between the ages of 16 and 18 in most cases.

Yes: If the child is emotionally and physically mature enough, and not participating in contact sports a rhinoplasty can be considered.

Depends on severity: In considering rhinoplasty on a child, one must weigh the potential benefits of surgery (improved breathing, sleep, and sinus health) against the concern that surgery might impair future nasal growth. If nasal blockage is severe, a limited operation may be needed to improve the quality of sleep, which effects cognition, growth and school performance. Otherwise surgery is delayed until maturity.

Rhinoplasty surgery: Dear sarahm, it depends on how old the child is. We wait until after puberty (15-16 for girl, 16-17 for a boy) before operating. Once they are passed that age, the bone and cartilages are mature to operate on. A rhinoplasty will fix the breathing problems and the look. Best, nima shemirani.
