Weeks to months: Depending on how much work had to be done it usually takes weeks to months to breathe freely through the nose. See your surgeon for a recheck if concerned.

1-2 weeks worst part: After 1-2 weeks a lot of the swelling will be down, and you should start to have improvements in your breathing. Depending on your individual nose, you may continue to have improvements in the breathing for a while longer. Revision rhinoplasty and/or extensive work will create more swelling which may prolong the healing process. Your surgeon can advise you on your specific situation.

A few weeks....: Usually, after rhinoplasty, breathing through the nose is difficult for the first 7-10 days, and progressively improves after that. It may take 4-6 weeks for the full improve, ENT to occur.

Rhinoplasty air flow: Initial swelling increases for 48 hours, then starts to diminish. If only a rhinoplasty was done, then your breathing will feel pretty normal after 2 weeks. If you had septal surgery and/or surgery on your inferior turbinates at the same time, then breathing may take 4 weeks to feel pretty good. I have had some patients after extensive surgery take over 6 months, but these are rare thank goodness.
