While it is supposed to be a direct equivalent of the Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) XR, Generics are able to contain 80 to 120% of the parent compound. You need to see how your son responds. Other difference may effect the absorption of the generic. Occassionally a person may need an adjustment in the generic dose, usually a slight upwar change in dose.
