There : There are different kinds of diseases and deficiencies that can cause rickets or rickets-type symptoms such as: - vitamin d deficiency - calcium deficiency - phosphorus deficiency - bone diseases such as hypophosphatasia - jansen syndrome - a form of dwarfism that causes similar joint abnormalities seen in rickets - vitamin d resistant rickets because of all of these possibilities which require different treatments, you should take your daughter to her doctor it you suspect rickets. Blood tests and x-rays can help differentiate and diagnose the cause of rickets to ensure appropriate treatment.
