What your Dr prescr: Prescribes. The decision regarding the dose of any medication like this is extremely personalized. People have tolerances to this class of medication all across the board. As physicians we try to provide just enough to treat the symptoms while adding in an antidepressant that has been antianxiety effect as well as psychotherapy. We try to keep the dose as little as possible and the treatment as short as possible with the realization that there are people who require extremely low dose short-term treatment and others who require the opposite.Severity of the anxiety interestingly does not always predict dose response. Some people with high anxiety get by on low doses and some people with relatively low anxiety require higher doses. This is why the practice of psychopharmacology is so individualized.
