Any : Any time there is a laceration through the skin it may leave a scar, but the surgeon will make every attempt to minimize the scar and can give you advice on wound care to minimize scarring, so please tell the surgeon your concerns. In addition, keep out of the sun as much as possible in the year after surgery or wear a hat and sunscreen (after the wound heals) so that the area won't darken.

Depends if complex: The sice of the incision depends on the size of the cyst and the presence of loculations (separate compartments) usually it is best to treat early with a small incision and drainage which usually heals with a very small scar. In the worst case a small scar revision can be performed 6 months later if necessary.
