Can wellbutrin (bupropion) 100 mg be crushed and taken because im having problens taking it whole or in pieces its gets stuck for hours and wont go down

According : According to the food and drug administration, crushing, chewing or dividing wellbutrin (bupropion) can cause the medication to be released too quickly into your body and can increase the chance of adverse side effects such as seizures. Try swallowing it with lots of water (at least 8oz) or swallow it with a spoonful of pudding or yogurt to mask it. If you cannot swallow the pill whole, tell your doctor. Yes: clarify with your pharmacist. if it isn't one of the many time released preparations and you total daily dose is 100mg then it should be okay. but like i said, clarify with your pharmacist that you are on the instant release preparation.
