You : You are correct in thinking about a growth spurt. This is usually why a child will begin to eat much more than usual. A growth spurt may only result in his feet gowing or gaining a few inches in height. Don't expect to see a dramatic change. On the other hand, polyphagia(eating excessive amounts of food) can be an early sign of juvenille diabetes. The best thing to do is have your child evaluated by his pediatrician or primary care provider.
