Yes: Certain blood pressure medications called Alpha adrenergic agents, like Clonidine or prazosin, are used to help eliminate nightmares. Also, antidepressants like zoloft, Prozac and Paxil (paroxetine) can sometimes help the nightmares. However, therapy remains the best treatment for ptsd and can help the nightmares in time.

Not particularly: There are no particular meds to target night mares in ptsd however when it is treated appropriately one can expect night mares to resolve along with other symptoms ptsd. Common meds used to treat ptsd are ssris, benzodiazepines etc. Cbt psychotherapy is helpful as well.

Prazosin : Prazosin (an Alpha blocker), image rehearsal therapy, systematic desensitization, and progressive deep muscle relaxation training are suggested for treatment of ptsd nightmares.

Yes: As a psychotherapist, I have observed that nightmares are most effectively alleviated by a combination of medication (such as those mentioned already), and therapy. I encourage patience because there is generally not a quick fix. As other symptoms of PTSD abate, however, nightmare frequency/intensity tends to subside as well. Best wishes
