PTSD: Getting the right treatment for PTSD is essential. It is important to work with mental health providers who have expertise in PTSD. Psychiatric medications are often indicated. Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is the gold standard - it is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) & virtual reality exposure therapy can also be quite effective.
