No: Most breast reduction surgeries are done without the need for a urinary catheter. However, if the surgeon thinks the case may last longer than usual (larger reduction, secondary procedures such as liposuction, etc), he/she may elect to place a urinary catheter. Either way, placement of a urinary catheter intra-operatively poses very little risk to the patient.

No: Most breast reductions can be completed nicely and safely in around 2 hours- so a catheter isn't necessary.

Depends: In most instances, in my opinion, a bladder catheter is not needed but this may be at the discretion or advice of your surgeon or anesthesiologist and be recommended for very good reasons. Discuss with them.
