Well, : Well, being that you are thin and can eat whatever you like, you are probably the envy of many of your family and friends. But being too thin and underweight can cause health issues too. You must eat a nutritious diet that has the right percentage of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Also, if you want to gain weight and have a shapely body, then it is important to lift weights to build muscle. Incorporate strength training into your exercise routine. You can also try taking protein supplements to promote muscles healing and growth.

Maybe water weight?: Weight gain that occurs as the day goes on (but disappears the next morning) has to be due to things in the body such as water, pee, poop, or partly disgested food. It could also be differences in morning and evening clothing, if a person is not weighed wearing the same clothes. Body water changes can be due to excess intake, diuretic use, edema problems, etc..., and should be checked by a doctor.

Steroids: Steroids cause both an increase in appetite and fluid retention. If possible a steroid sparing drug needs to be added so the steroid dose can be decreased.

Weight increases...: Weight will likely increase due to the high calories in fat, but it is not safe to eat so much animal fat. One can try getting his fats from nuts and olive oil. Fats from plants and nuts have the same number of calories as animal fat.

See Dr., then eat...: If one is truly underweight (based on height, family background, and body type), a Dr. can evaluate for a hormonal, digestive, or other disorder. If no medical cause is found, then one can add weight by eating more calories of nutritious foods, while also doing weight-training to increase muscle. Proteins: egg white, chicken breast, salmon,... Better fats: olive oil, peanuts, almonds, tofu,...
