Many : Many children have trace amount of blood in the urine and this may not be indicative of a medical condition, however, it will be important to investigate why your child has blood in the urine regardless. At times, heavy exercise and activity can cause blood to be detected in the urine. Did your child have a sports practice or an active day on the day of the urinalysis? Other medical conditions that can cause blood to be detected are kidney problems (such as a kidney infection or presence of a tumor or cyst on the kidney), an infection such as streptococcus which causes infection to the kidney, blockage to urination and blood disorders such as sickle cell disease. Follow up with your doctor accordingly.
