A member asked:

Is my blood pressure too low? my blood pressure was in the 140s over 90s. after taking bp meds, my pressure now is averaging between 110 to 120 over 60s to 70s. it mostly hangs out in the low teens. is that too low. should i look into reducing meds

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That : That is an excellent blood pressure, especially if you are feeling well. Current guidlines suggest that for most people, blood pressure should be less that 140/90. The body does a nice job of monitoring itself and typically if your blood pressure is "too low" you will feel dizzy, lightheaded, or lethargic. If you look back historically, our target BP that we recommend has continually been lowered as new research has come out.
