Angioplasty : Angioplasty can fail. It is important to take anti-platelet medications. In some cases repeat angioplasty and stenting can be done. Otherwise bypass surgery may be necessary.

Not necessarily: Angioplasties are supposed to be done for high- grade stenoses, and if they fail, either early or late, treatment can repeat angioplasty, medical therapy, or surgery. Depends on the level of circulation to the area of the heart in question.
