See cardiologist: For heart patients less than a year after bypass it's best to play it safe and see cardiologist. Your dad at 50 is probably at higher risk since he had bypass at 50 years old. He may be obese smoke etc. All these risk factors can increase the risk of bypass clotting off. He should be in cardiac rehab or nearly finished. He should be super compliant with medications always taking aspirin.
