History & exam: Rheumatologists, neurologists and internal medicine doctors/internists all diagnose and manage fibromyalgia. Although we don't have a test or study that definitively proves the diagnosis of fm, there are clinical criteria that make the diagnosis very probable. Also, excluding mimic syndromes that can look like fm improves the certainty of this diagnosis.

See a physician: credentialed in pain management or board certified in pain management. There are some diets that are helpful in fibromyalgia but the key is to stay active as inactivity increases the pain in fibromyalgia.
