What are doctor-recommended strategies for helping fibromyalgia symptoms?

See details: Aerobic activity can be very helpful. There are specific meds for fibromyalgia that can be very helpful (gabapentin, lyrica, savella, (milnacipran) cymbalta). Beware of doctors who try to tell you that fibromyalgia can be treated with supplements or that it is related to hyper extensible joints or increased elasticity of soft tissue.

Gentle exercise: Beneficial therapies for #fibromyalgia are gentle exercises in a deep warm water environment, i.e., aquatherapy. Aerobic exercises not proven ; usually too painful for fm sufferers. The goal is to increase muscle strength ; tone. Modern clinical evidence suggests that hyperextendable joints, which is inherited, might predispose to fibromyalgia development.
