Yes: Osteogenesis imperfecta is often associated with otospongiosis (otosclerosis) which can lead to fixation of the stapes bone. This fixation of the stapes bone can manifest as a conductive hearing loss. If stapes fixation is thought to be the cause of the conductive loss, corrective surgery on the stapes can be helpful especially if there is sufficient cochlear reserve.

Hearing loss: Hearing loss in oi differs in intensity and the type of hearing loss- conductive or sensorineural. Unfortunately there is no cure though surgery can help such as stapedectomy or cochlear implants. Sometimes, hearing aids may also help.
