SSD : (Single Sided Deafness) is definitely a disability however there are not many studies about the use of unilateral Cochlear implantation for the treatment of this condition. Suggest an in person evaluation with an ENT specialist in this surgical procedure. Hope this is helpfu!!l Good Luck! Dr Z
