Depends on you.: This depends on the health of your gums: which in turn depends on your home hygiene habits, general health, and a long list of other factors. Your dentist can give you a quick answer specific to your conditions; it will probably range between 3-6 months.

Depends: At your age you are prime candidate for periodontal disease. Minimum frequency is every 6 months. Better is every 4 months. Some patients need every 3 months to stay stable. Every 4 is a very nice timetable, as each visit may be easier. Research has indicated that the magic number for bacterial turnover is 90 days, so the ideal for some is 4 x year. Average 2, recommend 3 x year. Good luck.

As advised: The most common interval is 6 months for a good reason. Too many simple problems can become big problems in a year. However, every patient has different circumstances that effect the health of their teeth and gums. This can even vary over time. Some need more or less frequent recalls. If you trust your dentist, trust his or her recommendations for you.
