No: Salt water is very mild antibacterial agent. While it might be good for sores or infections, it really has no significant effect on preventing tooth decay and certainly cannot eliminate or treat tooth decay. Proper brushing and flossing, a healthy diet, limiting refined sugars and sticky starchy foods, along with routine dental check-ups and cleanings can prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
