A member asked:

Can a bite on the inside of your cheek lead to oral cancer?

Usually not : However, you need to find out the reason why. Is it a nervous habit? Try to find other ways to relieve stress. Do you bite your cheek frequently while eating? See you dentist to check your bite and cranial nerves. Some brain tumors are found early because the patient bites the cheek or tongue alot. Seek care to resolve this problem if you find you cannot quit biting.

Cancer not likely: While a bite to your cheek may be uncomfortable, it will not initiate cancer in that site in the future.

Probably not, but...: A single cheek bite will likely heal uneventfully. However, there are cancerous lesions that can look like a cheek bite. If things aren't getting better within 2-3 days, it would be wise to visit your dentist.
