Get a biopsy: If there is continued concern about a pigmented lesion on any part of your body, i would strongly urge you to talk to your doctor about obtaining a biopsy. A biopsy allows closer microscopic examination which can provide peace of mind, or can help direct further therapy, if necessary.

Rare diagnosis : Melanoma of the lining of the mouth or cheek is possible but very rare. However, if it is a melanoma it will become very obvious clinically in a short period of time. So just a "spot" is very unlikely to be a cancer.
