A member asked:

If i have osgood-schlatter disease, can i still play a sport?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Use pain as your guide for sports. Ice the area x 10 minutes after sporting events. Use Ibuprofen products regularly to decrease inflammation. Stretch your quads regularly to reduce pain. Pad the knee if direct contact is anticipated, or repetitive falling on the knee. The pain should spontaneously resolve when the growth plate closes, between the ages of 16-18.
