Rest/ ice / NSAID: Tendinitis is an acute inflammatory process of the tendon (attachment of muscle to bone). The area of involvement needs rest from the offending activity- often a repetitive overuse type injury. The inflammation can be treated with ice, topical non-steroidal and/ or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent taken by mouth (ibuprofen/ naproxen/ etc). Modalities used in physical therapy may help.
