Yes: Mechanical injuries commonly primary causation for fibromyalgia. Over time injured body parts, unconsciously splinted & protected, develop soft tissue atrophy from disuse. Resultant chronic soft tissue spasms lead to painful trigger points, begetting further splinting and guarding; as the FM syndrome begets itself. By time of full-blown chronic widespread pain, original injury oft forgotten.
