Chalazion: Sty is usually an acute infection and you may have chalazion. These generally get better on their own in about month, since that has not happened, you need to see an ophthalmologist for evaluation and treatment. Stye: A stye is an acute inflammation and clogging of an oil gland of the eyelid margin. Treatment is with warm compresses. If the oil and inflammation persists, you can form granulation tissue (that persistent, non-red, bump of the eyelid). Now called a chalazion". This may resolve with a lot of time, but commonly has to be excised and drained.
