Nerve-mediated?: Consider evaluation by physician who specializes in muscle and nerve pathology ( physiatrist or neurologist). A physical examination including electrodiagnostic testing my be indicated to rule out possibility of a nerve "irritation". Burning and referring pain could suggest pain is nerve-mediated in nature.
