A member asked:

I have a burning in my arm above the elbow and now my arm is felling num. the burning is just below the shoulder to the back of the arm could this be a pinch nerve.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The : The problem may be spasm in the teres muscle that runs across the shoulder blade to the armpit. When you develop a trigger point there it may radiate down the back of the arm in radial nerve distribution because the radial nerve enters the arm at the point of attachment. What people refer to as "pinched nerves" in the shoulder area are often trigger points. These are relieved by deep massage, stretching or trigger point injection with lidocaine.
