CSF otorrhea: The treatment is primarily surgical. In some cases of trauma, however, where the leakage is very light, they might wait to see if spontaneous healing occurs.

Yes: CSF otorrhea is caused by a defect in the bone surrounding the ear and the temporal bone. It can be cured but will require surgery to seal the leak. It is very important to have this taken care of. The risk of a untreated CSF leak is meningitis.
