Not necessarily: Swelling is a common side effect of pregnancy due to all the retained water. The swelling can induce carpal tunnel syndrome if it becomes pronounced. I would recommend keeping your hand elevated, massage of your wrists to keep the lymphatics flowing and night splints if you begin to develop symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome (numbness).
