What is a normal % for a hida with cck scan?

35-75% normal: A hida (hipatobiliary iminodiacetic acid) scan with cck is normally done when gallbladder disease is suspected but gallstones are not present. The test is a radionuclide scan with an injection of the hormone cholecystokinin. The hida scan is used to see the gallbladder then cck is injected to make the gallbladder contract. Normal is around 35-75%.

More than 40%: After administration of fatty meal or cck (cholecystokinin) intravenous injection , the ejection fraction of the gallbladder should be equal or more than 40%.

Ejection fraction : Recent concensus among many adult nuclear medicine specialists is greater than 38% gallbladder ejection following an hour of cck infusion. The big variable among these tests is duration of intravenous injection from a few minute bolus injection to sslow intravenous drip of an hour.
