Probably medication: Some medications mainly high blood medications, or psychiatric medications can cause xerostomia (dry mouth). Let your dentist know, since you may be at a higher risk for caries.

Many Possibilities: There are many causes of dry mouth (xerostomia). These include side effects from certain medications, certain diseases and medical conditions, dehydration, smoking and continuously breathing with your mouth open. Consult with both your dentist and physician to try to determine the cause.
