Female,age 24. diag. w/ chronic hives a year ago. past few months: dry mouth, constant thirst(water 84+ oz/day)rapid heart beat, frequent urination.

See endocrinologist: 4 conditions come to mind: a. drinking too much water from an obsessive urge leading to water intoxication.. b. Diabetes insipidus -the pituitary no longer secretes the hormone (ADH) to control the urinary flow. (c)Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. (d)If you are taking a lot of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the hives it would lead to dryness in the mouth->thirst. All of the above require a visit to the doctor.
