What is analgesia and how is it used during a root canal?

None during RCT: Analgesia is not trypically used during rct, as the procedure is done under local anesthesia. Your dentist may prescribe nsaids after the procedure if necessary.

Analgesia: I often use nitrous oxide\oxygen analgesia along with a local anesthesia for many dental procedures. This is also known as "laughing gas" or "sweet air". It makes you feel light headed, reduces your apprehension and anxiety, dulls your senses and makes the entire procedure pass more quickly. Many dentists use this technique and the effects wear off within minutes leaving no after affects.
