Yes, usually: As long as you don't not get in the way of the dentist or the assistant i don't see why not. It is really up to the patient and the dentist. There are times where i would ask a parent not to be in the room because a child usually behave better without the parent there. However, the parents are only a step away from the treatment room so they can see and hear what's going on.Talk to your dentist.

Yes: it all depends on the patient. patients need some privacy sometimes. studies have shown that kids do better if the parents are not around.
