Depends: In some dentists' hands, every patient may experience sensitivity following a procedure, while other dentists rarely cause such symptoms. It depends on the materials the dentist uses, his or her technique, and on the way your body responds to invasive work. See your dentist to have this filling looked at.

See your dentist: Some sensitivity for a few days is normal. Intense pain is less common and may mean that there is a problem. See your dentist for a follow up. They can help you figure it out!

Sign of complication: Sorry to hear that you're in severe pain after a composite filling. Although a mild sensitivity after a filling is normal, however, if you experience a continued and intense pain you must visit your dentist for re-evaluation. Small adjustments can make a big difference. Take care.
