? definition scan: 1 if mean, dilate eye, md looks at back of eye for retina changes seen in diabetes, yes. Recommended 1x yearly. 2. If mean inject with a 'dye', camera takes picture- only done occasionally, in patient with known significant diabetic changes in eye.
