A member asked:

How does diabetes cause diabetic retinopathy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Retinopathy: Retinopathy is unfortunately not uncommon in diabetes that is poorly controlled. If that is what you have you must see your eye doctor ASAP for careful evaluation and management. Do not delay or it will be too late!
