What is the amount of time it takes for a dry socket to fully heal?

Once identified: And appropriately treated by your dentist, the pain resolves shortly thereafter. Re- applications of the medicated dressing might be needed every few days for a week or so, depending on what treatment approach is taken. Obviously avoid alcohol and cigarettes in the interim.

In Addition: If the medication dressing is out of the socket, it is important to rinse regularly until the socket no longer get food or debris in it. Usually, rinse upon awakening, after meals and at bedtime. After the socket gets covered by newly grown gum tissue, you can expect there to be a dimple in the gum for several months until the underlying bone heals and remolds.
